DIVERGENT WRITING

Ask anyone who's ever had a beer with me: I love to weave words and spin yarns. You'll find a selection of my short stories, personal essays, and satirical pieces in McSweeney’s, Slackjaw, and Medium.

SUPER HOSTING

Recently, my wife and I got into the hospitality business. We renovated this vacation A-frame, branded it, and added a bunch of fun details around the home and property. I’ve done a ton of writing for Goathaus, from the comprehensive guidebook, to the cheeky instructional labels, to my notes to guests—which they seem to enjoy, judging by their reviews. Book this “midcentury modern retreat on the edge of Wisconsin’s famous peninsula” on Airbnb, but only if you bathe regularly.

ROBOT MANIPULATING

With the rapid advances in GenAI, I figured I’d better control the machines before they control me. With a combination of Midjourney, Photoshop, and various odd elements, I’m creating an expansive world—across history and geography—in which sentient robots replace us humans in all aspects of our experience. There are dozens more where these came from at my Society6 shop.

CHILDISH DOODLING

Drawing was my childhood passion, and when I picked it up again as an adult, my themes were much the same: hair, robots, Packers, bleak landscapes, Day of the Dead, poop jokes, spaceships, and body parts. I’ll grow up if you do.

PICTURE DIDDLING

And like everyone else you know, I take lots of pictures. I've got low skill but a good eye. Not the best, but better than most.
